On Friday, March 14, former Birmingham Community Charter High School standout Jorge Romero’s current college team, the Western Illinois Leathernecks, won 17-8 in their NCAA Division I baseball game against the Illinois State Redbirds.

The game took place at Alfred D. Boyer Stadium. This was their second matchup against the Redbirds this season.

The Leathernecks’ next game is scheduled for Saturday, March 15 at 1 p.m. at Duffy Bass Field against Illinois State Redbirds.
