Glendora Grand, Inc. ranks as Los Angeles County’s No. 2 nursing home by residents served in Q1 2026

Glendora Grand, Inc. emerged as the county’s second-largest nursing home by average daily residents in the first quarter of 2026, according to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

The facility offered a total of 342 beds, surpassing the Los Angeles County average by 241 beds as of the first quarter of 2026. It cared for an average of 304.3 residents per day during that time.

Glendora Grand, Inc. received a 1 out of 5 overall rating from the CMS, trailing the California average of 3.2 for nursing homes.

Santa Anita Convalescent Hospital led the county in size for the quarter, with 391 beds, followed by Glendora Grand, Inc. Veterans Home of California – West Los Angeles ranked third, providing 312 beds.

As of the first quarter of 2026, Glendora Grand, Inc. had accumulated $223,287 in six fines and was subject to seven total penalties.

There were 334 for-profit nursing homes operating in Los Angeles County, California.

According to U.S. Census Bureau estimates, the older adult population in the United States continues to grow as the number of children declines. From 2020 to 2024, Americans age 65 and over increased by 13%, while those under 18 declined by 1.7%. The nation’s older adult population has risen sharply in the last century, climbing from 4.9 million in 1920 to more than 61 million by 2024.

A 2021 study estimates that almost half of this age group, or about 28 million people, are likely to need long-term services and support. The study also projected that over one-third may ultimately require nursing home care.

“Living a long life is something that many of us want and could get,” said Jesse Slome, executive director of the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance, an insurance education organization. “But when we live a long life, the chances of us needing long-term care increase exponentially. But when you need that type of care, there are limited options.”
